I, me and myself

I am sure you all have gone through tons of open letters , blog posts , youtube videos , facebook rants on the vicious loop of people staying outside india - wanting / not wanting to go back. Well my story is more or less same. Started my journey as a student in USA and now a software engineer in silicon valley ( Bay Area). I dont know many families outside bay area (& within USA) so cant speak for them, but my instinct says that loop is more dominant in bay area, california. There are many reasons : nice weather,  many job options , too many indians and hence all joyous / festival / cultural / food  activities are same in bay area and india :) The main question is : What is the deal breaker to choose either side. it  is my own feeling and also i hear from my fellow friends that they want to go back to india for their family. i mean no one has ever said that i want to go back to india to become CM/PM or join politics. I am in india for vacation. Came after 2 years.. Life in india has changed a lot. Its been 7 years now since i left india for studies and job.. since then i am visiting india almost every december except last year. But every time(year) i come here - it feels i am stuck in the old 7 year old (Aug 2007) past . I still see my cousins as kids - although now they are near their matrimony age. they have grown up.. pune has grown up and grown western.. halloween parties ...miami club ..thoushand oaks seems to be normal conversation and weekly routine ... dresses / food habits / talks are almost same here and there ... Also i feel the 7 year old past because - first time i am working from a company here.. i travel daily to IT park Hinjewadi for my company issues. Its been a struggle to commute daily through traffic and company bus. Yeah i know how exactly it sounds...an NRI guy cribbing about indian roads/ pollution / traffic blah blah.. what if somebody tells you that a guy who is shy of dancing , shy of talking to girls   proposed!!! But I DID !!!  Words cannot describe how excited i was before and after proposal. I had decided that i will marry ankita, but wanted to propose in a different manner. There was no time to plan a party as she was coming to pune 2 days later. Last week we were surrounded by many posts on Facebook regarding Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement. This brings to my topic of this post. For any kind of subject i see 99 posts in favor about trending topic and 1 sarcastic post about how he/she is cool not to care about general trends and how that trend is superficial. But the friend posting this coolness doesnt understand that what he/she is posting (cool according to his/her perspective) is also part of a trend which is not liked by some of the next cool set of people. Let me give you more context or few example i can think of : 1. There are 99  friends having display pic as couple with some or other kind of romantic pose or caption.     Then there will be 1 post by he or she saying how cool is he/she and separate from other couple by not     posting mushy mushy couple pics or updates. i dont want to blog only when i need to jolt down something/someone bothering me. ..or something worth(?) discussing. or some random rants ..i want to share my excitement/ positives around me as well... knowing myself...i know. that is not the case, because my previous blog was only rants and rants ..but i should not end up with diary with full of sad or hostile memories. Human nature and my history says  to be careful with oversharing attitude ..not be too excited with good things..
